What is Praharsha?
Praharsha is an interschool media workshop organized by the Maliyadeva Media Unit, aimed at enhancing the skills and brotherhood among media units across schools in and around Kurunegala. The workshop brings together popular guest speakers who have excelled in various fields of media, offering participants invaluable insights directly from industry professionals. Sessions cover practical skills in announcing, dubbing, sports commentary, and more — conducted through interactive workshops and Q&A sessions. Praharsha '25 returned to the arena after two years, hosted at Maliyadeva College on 18 February 2025.

How It Began
Praharsha was established by the Maliyadeva Media Unit as an annual interschool media workshop for schools in and around the Kurunegala zone. After a two-year hiatus since 2023, Praharsha returned in 2025. The '25 edition featured keynote speakers Prasanna Chandana Bandara (former SLBC senior announcer), Dilan Senanayake (dubbing director and YouTuber), and Kamal Deshapriya (actor, TV host, and cricket commentator).
